wrote <massive snip Since we understand that making a decision to accept Jesus as Savior, J and accepting His teachings, is the same as being sealed or J marked in the forehead by Jesus as one who is saved. We must also J understand, that accepting the doctrine, teachings, or traditions J of the Roman Catholic church or any other churches that follow J these beliefs, would mean we accept the mark of the beast. Also J understand there will be those that aren?t Catholic or even J Christian. But they will do as the beast commands for fear of J death, or loss of their livelihood from not being able to buy or J sell anything unless he or she had the mark. Which is actually J making the decision to accept the demands of the beast. These will J be those who receive the mark in the hand because they were forced J against their will. The true Catholic or any other Christian that J accepts these doctrines of men will have received the mark in J the forehead because they already made the free will decision that J their church is correct in replacing _script_ures to match J traditions or doctrines of men. I suppose that it would be J folly to point out to you that just about every Christian J denomination worships on Sunday rather than Saturday because it J celebrates the rise of Christ from the grave on the third say, J which was a Sunday. Well, yes, I'm sorry to say that it would. J First you should examine the reason why 'just about' (you are quite J correct to point out that it is not every one) all Christian J denominations accept the change of the day of worship. The death and J resurrection of Christ is celebrated in the Lord's Supper, a J celebration that was introduced by Christ himself. So where did J Sunday worship come from? If you examine a previous post I made on J the subject Sabbith(sic) Keepers - Saturday_or_Sunday? you will J find a long discourse on the subject (the truth of which has not J been challenged). So let me add a few other statements on the J subject: J The sun was a foremost god with heathendom... The sun has J worshippers at this hour in Persia and other lands... There is, in J truth, something royal, kingly about the sun, making it a fit emblem J of Jesus, the Sun of Justice. Hence the church in these countries J would seem to have said, 'Keep that old pagan name. It shall remain J consecrated, sanctified.' And thus the paagn Sunday, dedicated to J Balder, became the Christian Sunday, sacred to Jesus (The Catholic J World, March 1894, p.809) J Sunday being the day on which the Gentiles solemnly adored that J planet (the Sun)... The Christians thought it fit to keep the same J day and the same name of it, that they might not appear causelessly J peevish, and by that means hinder the conversion of the Gentiles. J (Six Dialogues on the Lord's Day, p.23) J From a Roman Catholic theologian, Thomas Enright, CSSR, J President of the Redemptorist College, Kansas City, Mo. J Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday J holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy J Catholic Church alone. The Bible says `Remember the Sabbath day to J keep it holy.' The Catholic Church says, No. By my divine power I J abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day J of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in J reverend obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church. J (Feb.18th, 1884) J Of course the Catholic church claims that the change was her J act... And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and J autrhority in religious matters. (Letter, 28th Oct. 1895 from J C.F.Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons) J Sunday is our MARK of authority... The Church is above the J Bible , and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that J fact. (Catholic Record, 1st September 1923) J The authority of the Church could therefore not be bound to the J authority of the _script_ures, because the Church had changed... the J Sabbath into Sunday, not by command of Christ, but by its own J authority. (Canon and Tradition, p.263) J The Convert's Catechism p.50 says: J Q. Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? J A. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic J Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday. J From the Roman Catholic Doctrinal Catechism , p.174: J Q.- Have you any other way of proving that the church has power J to institute festivals of precept? J A.- Had she not such power...she could not have substituted the J observance of Sunday, the first day of the week for Saturday, the J seventh day, a change for which there is no _script_ural authority. J Or, to put it another way, the Catholic Church says the J following: J The Pope has power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to J dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ. (Decretal De J Translat. Episcop. Cap.) J To quote the Catholic Record of 1st September 1923 again: J Sunday is our Mark of authority... The church is above the J Bible and this transference of sabbath observance is proof of that J fact and any Protestant who keeps Sunday acknowledges this. J Protestant Churches that worship on Sunday are (perhaps J unwittingly) accepting this mark of Catholic authority. They are not J following Apostolic tradition as Sunday-keeping never was an J Apostolic tradition. J In the book of Revelation chapter 14 and verse 9 God gives us a J solemn warning not to receive the mark of the beast. Everyone will J have to make the choice as to whom they will give allegiance. The J false church of the Sunday sabbath or God's true church that will J have the mark, or seal, of God. J God's church is described in Revelation chapter 14 verse 12 as J keeping the (original 10) commandments of God and having the faith J of Jesus. In chapter 7 of the same book the faithful are described J as having the seal of the living God... on their foreheads. J (Vs.2,3) J What is a seal? A seal is something that is affixed to official J documents to show the authority of the one who is doing the sealing. J For example the seal of the Queen of England says: J Elizabeth Regina - It gives her name J Queen - It gives her _title_ J Of England - It gives her dominion. J Where do we find the seal of God J When we look at the fourth commandment there we find: J it gives the name - the Lord God J it gives the _title_ - Creator J and it gives the dominion - the heavens and the earth, the sea J and all that is in them. J Ezekiel 20:20 says: hallow my Sabbaths, and they will be a sign J between me and you, that you may know that I am the Lord your God. J In Isiaih chapter 8 verse 16 we are told to bind up the J testimony, seal the law among my disciples. J Within the word itself we find evidence of the fact that the J Sabbath contains the seal of God. J The word Sabbath is made up of two words: Sab and Bath. 'Sab' J means 'father' J and 'ath (oth)' means 'sign,' J the prefix 'b' before 'ath' means 'dwelling place'. J So the word Sabbath means: J 'The dwelling place of the sign (or seal) of the Father.' J Then I suppose that according to you, we should not do such a J thing and therefore not celebrate the rise of Jesus. Paul, your J supposition is not only erroneous but un_script_ural. Where is the J command to celebrate the rise of Jesus by worshipping on Sunday? You J give no text to support your assertion. J 1 Cor 11:25-26 After the same manner also he took the cup, when J he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: J this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. [26] For as J often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the J Lord's death till he come. J The Lord's Supper is there to remember Christ's death on the J cross, made a celebration because of His rise. That's very Satanic of you. J No comment, Paul. Perhaps you would like to rethink your basis J for making such a statement. J love J JB If your not living in Oklahoma JB, you're just camping out !
