or as (the body of?) Jacob, on LOST? I've never watched LOST. *gasp* Heard it turns into crap in Seasons 2 & 3, and then recovers somewhat. Sounds like a meandering mess.  I just can't get interested enough to start it.  Maybe, one of these days....  I'll probably start watching it before I watch the rest of Season 1 of Dollhouse (something else I've been putting off.).

Meandering? I don't recall anything like that, though there was a slump at the start of season 4 where almost nothing happened for a handful of episodes. Either way, Lost is a great series for marathon watching. I know a lot of people who weren't into it at the start, but once they could watch episodes back to back at leisure, they were hooked. Dollhouse only starts to get good at episode 6, so if you haven't seen that far yet you should be pleasantly surprised once you do.

You're thinking B5-type planning, which had the advantage of having been taken from a novel, which of course already had an ending.  I think at least to a certain extent, Kripke probably watches fan reaction to a given part of the storyline.  Maybe not, but with so many sites dedicated to the show, why not get feedback?  He's certainly not obligated to change things because we think he should, but I can't imagine a creative person not wanting to see how his work flies (or doesn't) I don't even mean B5, I just mean a good idea of the story you're going to tell and where you're going to go.  Anyone who is paying attention to fan reaction isn't really telling their own story, they're pandering to fanboys.  In the end, all that matters is what makes it onto the screen and when a creator says I had it all planned out , it had better be obvious that's the case in what's on-screen or I just don't buy it. There are too many cases where I had a plan has turned out to be a complete lie.

I think I saw the first 8-10 episodes of the first season before I gave up entirely but I actively disliked it from the first episode.  My wife never paid attention, she saw the first two episodes only when they were Rifftrax'd and she said that was the only thing that made them bearable. I think I've seen a couple of episodes since then, mostly because I wanted to know what anyone saw in it, but I've still never figured it out.

But they *had power* over War.  I think that's significant, since they weren't helpless, and outsmarted him.  I hope War isn't dead, though - I love Titus Welliver.  Further, I'm sure they'll overcome the others, though Famine and Death are already at work everywhere in the real world.  Ditto War. :-P War made it so bloody obvious what his weakness was, he couldn't have done worse if he had sent Sam and Dean a telegram. Maybe War was *that* arrogant and overconfident, and underestimated Dean and Sam *that* much. <snip

I couldn't make it past Season 1 Episode 2 in broadcast.  My tolerance level for Dushku is pretty low.  Didn't like her performance in Dollhouse Season 1 Episodes 1 & 2.  Liked her performance in The Alphabet Killer (Netflix Rental: Aug. 12, 2009) though.
