http://e2ma.net/go/6522986443/208022690/208872065/22509/goto:https://... ) Last week, we asked if you think English is a necessity for journalists around the world. The consesus, thus far, is a resounding Yes. For better or worse, without English skills, journalists around the world report losing out on opportunities for trainings, awards, and more. Cameroonian journalist Charles Atangana says: I really think that to be or become witness of the history and the time any journalist must learn English or have English as second language wherever they have to go in the world. Matilda, a journalist from Albania, bemoans this reality, pointing out that English helps a lot [and] is a necessity in our work, but knowing it excellently or not doesn't make us worse as journalist. And Sasa Milosevic, a freelance journalist from Belgrade, Serbia even proposes a online center where journalists can seek help in proofreading their English articles or take English classes.
