Newsflash

At the interview on the job did not provide first hand to a future employer (a man) just waited until he can. Do you make a faux pas?

I've been doing research on Spicy Pickles and although it is just a small company in its infant stages I see much promise.  If it completes its new stores it will have almost 100 Spicy Pickle franchise stores so comparing this with Jamba Juice franchises that have around 500 and its stock is about $7.  Jamba Juice (JMBA) also plans on builing many more stores to increase its market share.  Both companies have a unique product.  Spicy Pickle is somewhat like Panera Bread, but with the healthy fastfood of a Subway shop.  The best of both worlds.  I'd highly recommend buying SPKL and see big things for its future.  It is definitely a hit in every town it has been in. Customers just keep coming back and spread the word which is what makes a small company like this able to grow because of the buzz. Did I also mention the classy yummy sandwhiches, attractive stylish stores, and very informative website for future franchise owners. They have a great plan.  It just shows through everything they have done. - finance ninja http://financeninja.wordpress.com a stock market blog

Listen folks...I'm a relatively new investor but have been an accountant for 20 years.  Please be careful of the talk on these boards as much of it seems overblown to the point of putting my bullshit monitor on high alert.  Keep in mind that if these guys sold over 4 million shares at $0.40, at todays price of $1.80 this puts SPKL market cap at $8 million.  All this for a handful of employees and (from what I understand) only ONE company owned restaurant.  These guys get only $30K for each franchise and a 5% royalty from stores that average around $600K annually.  Personally, I don't see an $8 million dollar company yet and they're going to be running at a loss for quite some time as one of the founders stated in a trade magazine interview. Also, I honestly don't see why the founders needed to raise only (roughly) a million and a half dollars.  From what I read it seems that the founders had at least a few stores already.  If these stores could have been sold to franchisees that might have been the seed money they needed to go the franchise only route.  Or how bout a new loan _base_d on a business plan.  I read that the stock sale came as a way to allow private investors a way out but who knows what else may be going on here.  And this because they met a lawyer who came up with all this to begin with.  I like to think that serious business people don't need a lawyer inserting themselves into a company and raise a million bucks to sell a franchise.  If the concept is really hot, you'd think they could have grown it internally without outside money.  Think about it, why not grow to 20 or 30 units, then franchise with the crapload of money you surely would have made internally. Sorry to be such a goddamn cynic, but don't forget you're playing with real money.  Hopefully, these guys are on the up and up and just a bunch of lazy office workers who actually have a decent concept that makes money for its franchisees.  But the whole thing smells weaselly to me.

Ladies and Gentleman, the dumbest post so far. Everyone, the bar has been set very very low. They are opening up 12 stores in LA, will be opening up at least 5 or 6 stores in Nov, and 5 or 6 in Dec.  Their goal is to have 100 stores by the end of 2008 and get listed on a majpr exchange in 09. These are serious people.

Well, I don't know if they are on the up and up.But their food and the huge crowds are on the up and up. If they are smart about locations they will be super popular. It may take longer than STV which I am excited about, but SPKL will be huge if management doesn't get in the way, IMO.
