The battle of Jutland was in 1915 and the German Imperial Navy inflicted heavy losses on the Royal Navy. The German Imperial Fleet could once again go out in mass and end the blockade of various German ports. In addition, the U-Boats could help ending the blockade by destroying the Royal Navy in wolf pack fashion.

In addition, the U-Boats could help ending the blockade by destroying the Royal Navy in wolf pack fashion. Well it could, but it would need a reason to. While the German fleet inflicted far more damage, the Germans were so alarmed by the losses they'd taken that they didn't go back to sea. What'll make their change their minds? A neutral America? I don't think so. They had one of them in 1915.

There would be no 14 Points or a Wilson proposed League of Nations. << Much stabler postwar international order. German and Austrian Empires would have remained largely intact in the East, and a new alliance system would have been constructed (mostly to oppose the Bolsheviks) instead of an impractical collective-security and disarmament apparatus. World War II could been avoided, and would probably have been at least mitigated. Neither Hitler nor anyone like him would have come to power in Central Europe. He was detailing all of the things the British had done to violate US neutrality during the war and asking why we should be going to war against the Germans but not the English.  Perhaps this congressman would have been more persuasive. << We wouldn't have gone to war with the British. Too much money invested in England, too many cultural connections, too hard to beat the British Royal Navy without taking fearful commercial shipping losses. But we might have remained neutral. Something I read a while ago suggested that the defeat of Germany was due to the fact they went on the offensive rather than the defensive. << Gary Ah, but the British blockade was what forced them to assume the burden of the offensive in the West. It was slowly strangling them ... either they broke loose by seizing the French Atlantic ports or they forfeited the war. Though I think that the Germans should have avoided a Western offensive in 1914. The offensive cost them early British entry into the war and all it really won them was Belgium.
