Just wondering why there aren't any knock-offs of Descent, like you find tons of Duke'em/quake/doom, etc? I mean, I  like quake all right (though the rest of 'em are too cheesy for me), but there's still no game out there that comes close to the Descent series...problem is, D3 won't be out for another year... But maybe I'm missing something: are there any decent Descent-type games out there?

I don't know why game companies haven't tried to outdo Descent. Maybe they just couldn't do anything better. I have to agree with you
