I have been lurking for awhile now and finally decided to stop being shy and introduce myself.
Me and my DH have been TTC for forever it seems...I am trying for number 3 but this will my first with my new hubby. He does not have any children and is excited to have a baby. I was wondering if anyone knew how long you had to be TTC before the doctor would test him and me for for that matter...I know they say that it takes longer when you are older...but how much longer??

I am sorry that your TTC journey has brought you this far. I know what you mean about getting upset at each passing month. This is a hard road to travel. Most doctors won't see you until you have been TTC for at least one year. However, if you are advanced materinal age (AMA), they will begin seeing you after 6 months of trying. I believe they consider AMA to be 35+ years old. I would recommend calling your doc and telling them exactly how long you have been TTC and tell them that you are concerned. If they refuse to test you, you could always try out a different doctor. Personally, my OB wouldn't treat me, so I went to see a GP. They did some minor tests,
found out I had a problem and sent me to a specialist. You may want to consider looking around your area for a RE (reproductive endocrinologist). They are the specialists when it comes to fertility and will have the most knowledge. Most will except new patients without a referral. I am definately going to mention it to them if this cycle is a bust. I will ask them to monitior it next C. We are hoping that we will be able to do IUI again next C. We will have to wait and see what they say though. I know that some doctors won't do back to back IUI's because it stresses the body. So, we'll have to wait and see what happens. But on the plus side, my temp went way up today. Yesterday it dropped to 97.74 and this morning it was 98.34, which is the highest it's ever been. Plus the spotting stopped. I did POAS this morning, and it was a BFN, like I expected, but it could still be too early.
