David, Excellent overall point!! I agree with 99% of what you have expressed. Peter Marquardt and I were talking, and he commented that the older one becomes, the more of a sender and the less of a receiver he becomes. The NPA does consist of many older members. (No offense to anyone; I'll be 50 this year.) I agree that receiving as well as sending is good for members emotionally. However, I hate to hear the word political even brought up, personally. That's one of the main points that sets the NPA apart philosophically from organizations and associations such as the AAAS, GSA, etc., who turn up their noses at anyone who refutes the Big Bang or the Fossil Fuels Theory (because of political reasons). The NPA cannot become another political organization; as you said, everyone's ideas must be considered, no matter how bizarre. (Maybe I'm hurling out on a tangent, but politics must be avoided at all cost, else we're nothing but another AAAS.) Dr. Bob Heaston is the most voracious reader of others' works in the whole NPA. He is the most well-rounded scientifically, and understands everything everyone else is saying. He, for one, has been very complimentary of my father's work, especially his Fourth and Fifth Laws of Planetary Motion (added to Kepler's first three). He has corresponded with my dad in a most helpful way, suggesting how to better word the laws. Glenn Dean and a couple of others have specifically asked me to send them his writings on the Energy Fuels Theory, refuting the antiquated Fossil Fuels Theory. (There I go, sending .) Anyway, many are not as fortunate as Bob in being ABLE to understand what everyone else is saying. Believe me, my dad has read others' works from my computer, and he simply does not understand much of it. That's probably because he is a retired chemist/chemical engineer rather than a physicist. I, too, see many similarities among members' works that can be used to enhance and support. However, the great deterrence is EGO (and we all have ONE). Sincerely, Kay Scarborough
