After 2 endometrial biopsies my MD determined I have luteal phase defect and put me on progesterone suppositories (natural).  This was 5 mos. ago, and so far still not pregnant.  I'm scheduled for another endometrial biopsy this week to see if the progesterone is working.   Would love to hear from someone with the same problem, treated the same way (or not), and what your results have been.  I realize pregnancy takes some time even in healthy individuals, but I'm getting frustrated and would like to hear from others w/ this problem.  Thanks Monica

I also have a slight luteal defect.  My luteal phase is always just nine days.  My RE prescribed clomid for this in combination with IUI.  I had my first IUI last month, but I believe we timed it wrong.  This month I will try clomid, IUI and progesterone suppositories.  I've heard mixed messages about how to treat a luteal phase defect, but the RE staff assure me that clomid helps overcome a luteal defect.  I'm skeptical because it dries up cervical mucus,  but then that's why they do the IUI with clomid.  The progesterone used at the end of the cycle to support the lining if you do get pregnant, or so I'm told.

This is Evster again, sorry. Perhaps I am uniformed about LFD, but are you getting regular progesterone blood tests?  (Mine are always the 21 or 22 day of cycle)   I would hope you aren't subjected to biopsies often if your MD could do a blood test instead.

Never been diagnosed with LFD but my MD says my endo biopsies show that I am 2 or 3 days off.  I have low progesterone levels, too. Got PG with clomid over 2 years ago (my progesterone went up to 30 something).  Haven't been able to conceive this time around despite really high progesterone in the 40's mostly.  Dry mucous this time.   Should have tried estrogen or at least Robitussin to help with the mucous.  Evster

My doctor seems to be leaning toward Clomid, but I am sceptical as to it's value for treating LPD.  Progesterone seemed to be an option.  Can you give me the background as to why your doctor went for progesterone?  I have done some reading and would prefer to take natural progesterone first before trying clomid.  I ran this by my doctor and he wasn't open to it but we will be discussing it again!!  Oh, I have charted for a couple of years and all signs indicate i am ovulating. Fiona I'm also interested in your experiences.  I have not had an endo biopsy to confirm a LPD because my luteal phase is too short (9 - 10 days) to do the biopsy.  My OB/GYN said she'd have to do it on day 12 or so after ovulation and I never have that long a luteal phase. She gave me my choice of clomid or progesterone.  I felt like she was leaning towards clomid, but she didn't see any harm in trying progesterone first and she left the decision up to me.  So, I'm starting my 3rd cycle of progesterone ( 50mg 3x/day - sublingual caplets) this month.  It has increased my luteal phase, but other than that, no luck yet.  She told me to come back in when/if I decide I want to try clomid.  Other than look at my BBT charts, all she did was a prolactin and TSH test (both were normal). I feel like if I go on clomid it would just be a stab in the dark.  I'd rather have somemore hormone level tests done before taking any drugs. Can anyone recommend an RE in the Minneapolis area? Thanks.

Pamela Anderson: I'm not a bancrupt!

A few days ago we wrote used cars mercedescarsite.co.uk moto.motor-blogs.co.uk about the debt, which has caused the Pamela Anderson, as every year, changing the decor of his house. I am completely financially stable, and I thank all those who contested the recent media reports - wrote in a statement issued yesterday Anderson. It is true that I am still in the course of discussions with some of the subcontractors working on my house. But that's because after paying millions of dollars for its construction still get a wrong call for payment of accounts. Where appropriate, it will pay, if not - it does not. I am only sorry that one of the performers went with the whole affair to the press.
